DESCRIPTION:It is that time of year again — and this year\, your support can go twice as far. \n\n\n\nWe are partnering with the Northeast Kansas Library System for Library Giving Day on April 1st\, and gifts made between March 30th and April 3rd will be matched dollar-for-dollar\, up to $1\,000. That means a $100 gift to bring Dino Dimensions to summer reading becomes $200 for kids in our community — just by timing your donation to that window. Gifts can be made at foundation.nekls.org/lgd\, and NEKLS passes every dollar through to us with no administrative fee. \n\n\n\nWe have lots planned this year — programs for all ages and family programs each week. DESCRIPTION:When the kids are out of school\, we’re having our fourth annual FRANKENTOYS event! We will have stuffed animal/doll parts to put together\, plus (not scary) Halloween movies and snacks. The “tools” the kids/teens use to put their creatures together will depend on their skill levels….there will be needles and thread\, duct tape\, safety pins etc. If your child needs a lot of help\, please send them with a teen or adult\, as we will probably have a large group to assist.\n\n\n\nIf you have stuffies or dolls that you no longer need/want\, we’d love to take them! You can drop them off in the entryway or city hall if the library isn’t open. Or\, if a high schooler you know needs community service\, send them our way! It takes a village\, THANK YOU!

This is one of the library’s two big fundraisers for the year\, and all money raised goes to this year’s summer reading program. \nThis year\, we’ll have “personal shopping.” Fill out a form (online or on paper) with which categories of books you’d like and how many\, and we’ll choose a selection of them for you ahead of time! Details to come. \nOf course\, we’ll also have a huge selection of books to browse for $0.25 each\, DVDs\, video games\, and puzzles for $1 each\, or a “fill a bag” option for $5\, and plants! Garden fruits and veggies\, annuals\, perennials\, succulents\, and houseplants\, all priced low and ready to go home with you or be gifted to someone special.Of course\, we’ll also have a huge selection of books to browse for $0.25 each\, DVDs\, video games\, and puzzles for $1 each\, or a “fill a bag” option for $5\, and plants! Garden fruits and veggies\, annuals\, perennials\, succulents\, and houseplants\, all priced low and ready to go home with you or be gifted to someone special. And\, if you have more of a black thumb than green\, we’ll have crocheted plants as well….MUCH harder to kill those. You will definitely not want to miss this big event at the library!!
